Friary Outer, Lichfield - hotel, affordable housing and multi-storey car park
Lichfield District Council and Lichfield Venture
Part of Lichfield District Council’s city centre investment strategy, Friary Outer is a £14 million scheme to provide a high-quality 400 space multi storey car park, a new 79 bedroom hotel for Premier Inn, a restaurant and much-needed affordable warden assisted housing for the elderly on the site of a current council car park.
Affordable housing group and provider of specialist supported housing services, Bromford, has heralded S Harrison's new homes development at Lichfield’s Friary Outer as ‘life changing’ for the elderly local residents, who will move from their existing dwellings to the new purpose-built apartments when work is completed in 2013.
The scheme, has been made possible thanks to £2.4million of investment from the government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). It will provide 60 new homes mostly for older people in the city, including 54 supported housing scheme units. These will offer modern, fit-for-purpose homes for Bromford residents. The remaining six units will be shared ownership homes.
